I Heart Faces- Fix It Friday

Happy Friday everyone!  Here is today's I Heart Faces "Fix It Friday" photo.  I decided to edit and try to give the step as to what I did in PSE (Photo Shop Elements).

Here is the original photo taken by Angie of her beautiful daughter.

And here is my edit.

Now let me list what I did....hopefully this all makes sense....
First I cropped out the sign and brought her in a little closer.  Used the spot healing brush on the pink stream on the left and the white "blotchy thing" on the bridge in the street.
Added a layer (ctl J) and chose to "multiply" that layer, then decreased the opacity to 19%.
Adjusted the color curves
Ran Amy McMaster's Squeaky Clean and selected the deeper shadows (30% opacity)
And selected the "more color" option (95%).
The I lightened the shadows just a bit.
And finally resized and sharpened for internet (which added the black frame).

TAH DAH!

Thanks for looking!

NYC Finale...

So last month some of you may remember my little trip to NYC.  If you don't, you can refresh your memory here and here.  My "grand" finale shots kind of got put on the back burner (or I just forgot).  Since you all have been waiting so patiently with such anticipation (um yeah I'm sure you forgot too....) here they are!  I decided to play around in PSE (photoshop) a bit.  Add a little "somethin somethin" if you know what I mean....  I don't know what I mean either.....  OKAY... Enjoy! :)

Isn't her dress GORGEOUS?????  Everyone was trying to take pics of them...including me...
"move little man!"...  :)

I Heart Faces "Smiles" Photo Challenge

This week's theme at I Heart Faces is Smiles.  Pretty easy huh?  I had lots and lots of smiles to choose from, but chose this particular photo for an important reason.  Tamika's husband Ron is getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan very soon, and I wanted to send a little "smile" their way.  Please take a moment to send thoughts and prayers to them and their family and to all the other brave men and women who are serving our country.  Stay safe Ron and hurry home!

Flea Market Finds and Spring...

Last weekend my mom and I went to a local Flea Market.  I LOVE flea markets.  Seriously, some people may think it's just a bunch of junk, but I could look at "junk" for hours.  You may remember that I am on the hunt for the "perfect" quilt.  I found many beautiful quilts, but not at a beautiful price.  I'm not giving up....but I did find a few items along the way. :)

My mom and I spotted this hand blown pitcher.  It's huge, and gorgeous!  It will be perfect for margaritas and Sangria...aka...wine punch!  Check out the recipe here!

Also found this vintage looking mirror.  I have a bridal shoot coming up and thought it would add a little something.  Plus it was only $5.  Love it... :)

Now that Spring is in full swing, DH and I have been spending our weekends outside doing "projects".  I wish tulips would stick around all year...they are so friendly and gorgeous.

But with Spring comes severe weather.  Yesterday we got our first welcoming of the tornado siren.  DH and I are not the greatest when it comes to tornado safety....we actually run outside and "try to find it".  When I was a kid I wanted to be a tornado chaser.....the dream lives on.... :)

Okay back to the "master bedroom transformation" project.  We finished the color yesterday, now onto the trim and painting the furniture.  Are you as excited as I am? hehe... Stay tuned for "how to build your own garden"....a surprise wedding vow renewal ceremony....and a possible slideshow of the "grand finale" of my NYC pics I still haven't posted yet.

Have a fabulous day!

WE HAVE DUCKLINGS!!! OMG.....

Today was supposed to be a productive day.  Woke up at a decent time, went up to Home Depot and found the perfect paint color, and then came back home all ready to paint the master bedroom.  Well as DH was cooking breakfast, I was sitting at my desk editing a few pics......I saw something move in the backyard.  Well it kept on moving....it was a line of baby ducks or ducklings!  OMG!!!!!  I won't type the exact word I yelled... :)  DH and I dropped everything and ran outside...omg...omg..omg...then I ran back inside to grab my camera.  Here are a few pics of cuteness!  The only problem is.....now what?  They keep wondering all around the yard.  We could easily open the gate but I don't want them to get ran over.  So now what?  Uhhhhhhh train of cuteness wandering around my backyard...lol....

How am I supposed to paint the bedroom now???? lol...

Have a fabulous weekend!

I Heart Faces- Fix it Friday

SO even though Friday is almost over, I wanted to participate in I Heart Faces Fix it Friday.  I usually don't get to "partake" in Fix it Friday because I am at work, but I have been editing in Photoshop for the last few hours, so why not do one more for fun! Here is my take on editing this lovely little girl in the snow.

The Original Photo

My Edit

I loved the texture of her hat and scarf so I didn't want to crop the image.....and I just cleaned it up a bit and added some black and white to make the snowflakes pop....and there you go.  :)

Okay time to go to bed....Good Night!

Monika Ruzicka- Make-Up Artist

Hello everyone!  Another crazy week, so I have not been able to post as much as I wanted to.  I recently had the opportunity to help out a friend.  This friend happens to be an AH mazing Make-Up Artist named Monika Ruzicka from The Blonde Salon.  Not only has she done my make up for my wedding as well as my bridal party and engagement pics, she is also the Head Make-Up Artist for the NFL St. Louis Rams Cheerleaders.  HOOOOLLLLAAAA!  :)  I am helping Monika build her website, so that means pictures of make up!  If you live in the St. Louis Metro area and need a fabulous make-up artist, make sure to contact Monika at the The Blonde Salon!

On a side note:

Like my new watermark????  It is also my new logo! Eeekkk!  SO excited!  HUGE shout out to Natalie Spencer!  She is an AH mazing photographer AND owner/decorator of The Lush Cake.  Not only is Natalie gorgeous, but her cakes and photographs are also gorgeous.  So make sure to check out Natalie Spencer!  Thanks again Nat!  :)

Have a FABULOUS day! :)  Happy Earth Day!
