The Big 5...0....

SO just in case you weren't counting (I know you weren't...I wasn't either) this would be my 50th post.  Craziness!  When I first started my blog in November, I never even thought people would actually read it.  Honestly, I knew my mom would, my husband would (because I ask him to...), and my friend Megan would because she is awesome like that.  So the fact that people actually read my words and look at my pictures is AH MAZING.  Seriously, THANK YOU to each and every one of you!  You each get your very own red velvet cupcake from yours truly!

This past Monday I ventured up to my local antique mall because they were having a big sale.  Some vendors were having up to 40% off certain items.  I was not feeling the greatest, but my mom and I had scoped out the place a few weeks ago so we knew exactly what we wanted and where it was.  It turns out the items we wanted were not on sale.....figures....but of course we had to look at every booth just to make sure we didn't miss anything.  There are a few cake stands I've had my eye on for a while...and one day they will all be mine!  In case you forgot, I collect them.  But I did find this little beauty....  Gorgeous, huge, chunky, milk glass cake stand.  It's gorgeous.  And it was 10% off which is fine with me.  According to my Martha and her article on cake stands, during the 18th century, European glassmakers created milk glass to mimic porcelain.  My cake stand is "reminiscent of the chenille bedspreads of the day"...love it!  It barely fits in my china cabinet, but it looks lovely!  Here are a few pics!  Enjoy!

drum roll.....TAH DAH!

She has a GORGEOUS pattern....

There's nothing better than a pop of color.....and some vitamin C....

Have a fabulous day!

I LOVE MILK GLASS!! I like the texture on the cake stand...I swear we have a lot in common! I don't know if you have ever been up north much but there is a beautiful town about an hour west of where I live Galena, IL....you would love this place. Tons of unqiue shops, and full of antiques. A great weekend getaway type of place!

Congrats on the 50th Post!!! I enjoy reading them...I have been lacking on mine, but I'm gettin there...eventually haha :) THANK YOU for being my one and only follower!! haha :)

Jess- Thank you! I go to the Antique Mall in Fairview right next to Lotawata Creek. It has been there for YEARS but I just went for the first time last month. It's awesome!

Laura- Thank you! I enjoy reading your blog as well! :) I LOVE colored glass, this is actually my first milk glass piece. But I LOVE it. The texture is AH MAZING! And it's heavy as crap! :) When the girl was wrapping it up I must've said "AH....It's SO pretty..." about 5 times. I played tennis in Galena back in high school. I need the name of this town! I want to go! It sounds right up my alley... :)
