Jewelry and Dishes..these are a few of my favorite things....

SO this week has been pretty much up and down.  Of course the day I post my "Zumba" post in which I am determined to get up and dance....I get a migraine.  That evening when I got home from work I felt it coming.....my head hurt, my neck was stiff, and my pupils were really really tiny.....yup...a migraine was coming.  I took some meds and then it hit me like a train.  I locked myself in the darkest room in my house, the bedroom.  It's crazy how even the smallest ray of light shining in front the street can make your head want to explode.  Or how the noise of the heater or your cell phone can make you want to cry.  That's where I stayed for a good 18 hours or so until it went away.  Uh......hate them.  I have kept a journal in the past to try and figure out what triggers them such as certain foods etc.  Once again, hate them.

Then today we received about 4-5 inches of snow thanks to the "ARCTIC BLAST".....So every school was closed, including the one I work at.  Tim had gotten home from his four day trip late last night, so it was very nice to be home on a snow day with my dearest husband.  I also ventured out in my backyard to take some pics of the snow.  Then I got bit by the creative bug and decided to host a little photo shoot in my dining room.  Hence the new profile pic above....  :)  I also ventured into my "jewelry bag" and photographed a few of my favorite pieces.  I LOVE chunky antique/antique looking jewelry.  I also LOVE antique glass and dishes.  I currently have my set of "Green Manhattan Glass" and "Green Moon and Stars" on display in my china cabinet.  It runs in the family, this whole obession with dishes.  My mom also LOVES dishes and has a huge collection of "Red" glass dishes...the square ones, not the round ones.  We both could spend hours in an antique shop just looking at dishes.....and we do.  :)  SO I thought it would be a great idea to incorporate jewelry and dishes......two of my favorite things.  Here are a fews pics from today.  You may want to grab a blanket and some hot cocoa, cause baby it's cold outside. :)  Enjoy!

That's my Gracie.....she loves snow....

She looks like a wolf...the cutest little furry wolf in the whole wide world!

We also had 45mph winds which are no fun.....poor little boo boo....that's what I call her...
my "little boo boo"... :)

This was the snow blowing off the roof.....

Brrrrr....

Then it blew into the back door....where I was standing.....not cool.

Then I moved inside and held a little photo shoot of my own....this piece is from my
"Moon and Stars" collection.

This pitcher was a gift from my Aunt Kim.  It is from our "everyday" Lenox "Butler" dish set....LOVE them....

This blue cake plate is one of a three piece set given to me by my Aunt Bobbi....it's oh so pretty.....so is the bracelet...I wore this to my bach party.  :)

These are our "Tiffany" toasting flutes from our wedding....I stored all of my wedding accessories in the Tiffany box. :)

My grandmother gave me this cameo that I love SO much.  This is the cake plate that matches the pitcher and our "everyday" dish set.  I love cake plates.....I have 7!

This is another piece from my "Moon and Stars" collection.  It was used to hold bananas.

Every girl needs a set of pearls....

This is my "Joan Rivers" jewelry bag.  I ordered it from QVC and had to wait on the waiting list for 4 months in order to get it!  This is one of Joan's hottest items.....well I have it....and it's awesome!
Thanks to my DH (dearest husband) for holding that up. :)

Thanks to my AWESOME and AMAZING husband for taking my perosnal portrait.  I am very passionate.....ok very bossy when it comes to pictures of me....Tim did a great job! :)

AND finally...while eating dinner in the family room tonight I got this AMAZING idea to move my office into the family room.  Tim was VERY excited because now he could have his very own "hobby room".  He builds model airplanes etc.  So after removing the legs from my desk and rearranging a few things...
TAH DAH!!!!!  My new, cozy, and oh so fabulous office!  :)  Love it!

Hope you had a fabulous day!  Stay warm!

ZUMBA!

BAHAHAHA!  So it just seriously took me 10 minutes to sign into my blog account because I could not spell my last name right.........OKAY Kristina get with the program.  Today has just been one of those days.  AND the fact that it is 0 degrees outside and I could not feel my face by the time I walked into work today is SO not cool.  So latelty I have been feeling a little down, as in I got the blues.  I don't know why!  For some reason after the holidays I always feel like now what....what do I have to look forward to???  Don't ask me why......  What I do know is that I need to snap out of it!  I need to put on some sweatpants, turn on some awesome tunes (I love throw back jams from the 90s) and rock out in my living room!  I know my neighbors have seen me bust a move from time to time and my dog always barks her head off because she thinks I am playing with her, but dancing always makes me feel better.  Whether it be in my car, at home, or walking around Target with my mom....I love to dance.  It just feels so good to bust a move once in a while (daily).  So needing to snap out of my crappy mood and wanting to get back on the exercise train, I decided to take matters into my own hands.  SOOOO today my coworker and I ran over to the YMCA on our lunch and signed up for ZUMBA!  For those of you who are not familiar with Zumba, it is a latin dance/exercise class that totally rocks my world.  I have taken it before and LOVED it.  Then I found an awesome hip hop aerobics class at my gym, but it just got cancelled.  So it's back to Zumba my friends!  We signed up for the 7 week session and am so ready!  First class is this Thursday!  So if any of you are thinking about getting on the exercise train or trying something new for your workout routine, I would highly suggest Zumba!  AND you don't need to be an "amazing" dancer to master Zumba, it is so much fun and the music is awesome.  Just in case you are wondering, here is a link to a ZUMBA! class.  If you are embarassed to go by yourself don't worry, I will totally come with you and divert all the attention away from you.  I am by no means Justin Timberlake (who is so hot by the way) but I can shake what my momma gave me.  Have a fabulous day!  :)

St. Louis Wedding/Engagement Photographer - Katie and James

So I recently got to spend time with Katie and James who FYI....are the cutest couple ever.  Okay I can say this because Katie is my best friend.  We have been friends since 6th grade, she was my matron of honor, and she completes me.  :)  I met her now husband James years ago while we were all in college.  At the time they weren't even officially dating, but I knew there was something about James and that he was going to be around for a while.  Well thay have now been married for almost 3 years (I'm bad with numbers) and they are just too darn cute!  Things were kind of crazy when they were planning their wedding and they never had time to have engagement photos taken.  But you know what, that's ok.....because then I can take them. :)  They live in NC so we don't get to hang out as much as I would like (every single day) but they were able to make it home for the holidays which equals exciting!  Here are a few pics from their engagement/couples in love session.  Enjoy! :)

See how cute they are????? :)

Oh and it was frezzing outside, but they are troopers....

I love fuchsia coats and yellow high heels...

Isn't this the coolest wall ever?  Okay it was in an alley and not really a wall...but still...

Cute....

I LOVE this old theater...too bad it is closed...

Oh I am not afraid to lay in the middle of the street....the detailing on this theater was AMAZING...

Like two little love birds perched on a windowsill.....  :)

We all needed to thaw out a bit...so we snuck into the Renaissance Hotel which is very historic and very beautiful...

One of Katie's nicknames growing up was dimples....she has great dimples... :)

Time to play in the awesome spinning door!!!

GO GO GO!....

KEEP GOING!!!....

Phew....that was fun.....  :)

AND we didn't get caught or break the door....sweet... :)

Then we popped into Mosaic which is one of the coolest restaurants in St. Louis....

Katie is so gorgeous....

Green wall equals gorgeous....

Wardrobe change....leave it to me to find a red wall..... :)

I love that dress...Katie has great style.... :)

Now that is one fabulous looking couple....

THE END!  Thanks guys for letting me shoot your "e-session"!!!  :)  Awww I miss you already....

Happy Saturday!

Hello everyone!

I am about to head up to the gym because I feel like a huge blob full of sugar.  Uhhhhh....terrible.  Tonight I am gathering with some friends for my "Birthday dinner".  I know my birthday was last month but I usually am not able to get everyone together because of the holidays and the fact that everyone would rather spend time with their families instead of me...... :)  So we are all gathering at my FAV restaraunt Vin de Set which I am very excited about.  They have amazing french inspired cuisine and this awesome drink called an "X-rated bubble bath"...oh ya.  I will be posting a BIG post tomorrow which will include lots of pics from Katie and James' E-session.  Oh get ready....  But here is a sneak peek to keep you on your toes.  :)

Have a fabulous day! :)
